Aangenomen werk...

Recently I payed my LSS a visit, accompanied by Eldest Daughter. I was looking for a specific template, but found myself pining over a pile of templates in my hands, just struggling which one to choose.
Ahhh, I wish I was rich instead of handsome! Than I'd know what to do! No choosing at all, just fling the whole pile in my shoppingcart and darting off to my gigantic scrap-room.
Yeah right, dream on girl!

Eldest was waiting and observing my struggle and listening to all the pro's and cons as to why I should buy this template, or that, or maybe that other one?
But obviously any very sweet shopping-Angel can loose her patience on a rare occasion, because in the end, she jerked the most expensive one out of my hands and with a: "You get this from me than!!" she strided to the cash register.

Awwww, she is such a sweet, generous child! I felt tempted yet a bit embarrased to let my babygirl pay for my scrappassionhoardinggreediness. Sort of.
So I faintly refuted, but the smart ass played her mastercard by saying: "If you get this from me, you're gonna make a beautiful layout with that photo of us together in Barcelona, for ME, in MY scrapbook!"

Aha. Ja. Ja, natuurlijk!
Wat een goed idee  :)

Ah! Yes. Yes, ofcourse!
Such a brilliant idea  :)

And she  had, already, exactly in mind which photo: the one where we are sitting together on Gaudi's bench in Parc Güell.

First I had to finish the Color Rooms challenge, which palette didn't complement the photo at all, but last week it was her turn.
I used the CSI case file #S365-1, which was an exact match:

én de september challenge van Sketchbook365:
ánd the Sketchbook365 september challenge:

which I rotated to the right for my convenience. Artistic freedom is great  ;)

And this is my take on it:

I printed a portion of the Barcelona city map on a transparancy, did some embroidery and used lots of border punches. Further on I added a few metal embellishments and rub-ons for the title.
The mosaïc tiles were made with modelling paste and a CERTAIN template and after drying time, painted with distress inks. This was a bit of a finicky job, but that's right up my alley.

"Yeahhhh", Eldest said with a satisfactory sigh," that was exactly how I imagined it"

Well, surely thát's the reason why, isn't it?
