The Color Room #163 (én Once Upon A Sketch)

The new palette is online! My GDT work is already finished, but I like to play along anyway. Especially since most of the girls are so busy this time of the year and there are fewer examples than before.

It's a bit of a Christmasy-one, have a look:

I thougth that was a tad obvious, so I wanted to do something different. Which made it an even more difficult challenge for me with that bold colors... (me and my eternal thwartyness originality, sigh).
Also this layout was to be participating in two other challenges;  the november challenge on OnceUponASketch, which has to involve some journaling about 'my happy place'

ánd the november challenge on scrapforhelp, where you have to use 'bottle caps'.

Since the purchases from the Kreadoe (big Dutch crafting trade show) were screaming from their plastic bag to be used, I let  a few out to be welcomed to my crafting table.
Those were the Sizziz Bigz die 'ornate frame' ( by -who-else-  Tim Holtz *insert big grin *), the 'Burlap' template by Dutch Doobadoo, the 'Arch of flower' template by Imaginations Crafts and the diamond cling stamp by Graphic 45.
Papers are all leftovers, except for the background page, which came from 13@rts.

For the S4H challenge I used mini bottle caps from my stash, which I hammered flat and filled with a bit of red seal wax.
For the OUAS challenge I wasn't thinking of  'my happy place'  as a geografical place, but more like a spot I feel happy/at home. For as long as I can remember: that's the place where there is a cat :)
Hand me a purring cat on my lap and I am totally happy, hence the title.

In the photo is our furbaby Elmo, when he was just two months old.

So, here is the outcome:

Journaling says: Cup of tea at hand, favorite show on t.v. and a purring cat on my lap: that's what I call My Happy Place!
